Santa Fe Digs
My family and I had a wonderful time vacationing in Santa Fe this summer. We stayed in some real good digs! A great vacation rental home - called Capitol Casa. It's an authentic, updated 1920's adobe, just about 3 blocks from the historic Plaza and a 5 minute walk from Canyon Road, yet on a quiet and comfortable residential street. The short walk to museums, galleries, shops and restaurants (yet having the convenience of a full kitchen, luxuries of home, private, walled patio with hot tub, grill...) makes this place a real winner.
The big, breezy front porch has an old-fashioned glider, antique bench, and patio chairs - enough seating for 10.
The home is beautifully furnished with a tasteful mix of neat antiques and plush sofas. Richly colored Oriental rugs brighten the oak floors throughout.
This double chaise was "the" spot for my son and his wife - they loved it.
The table expands for a large group, and the home is stocked with table service for 17 including bar glasses, tablecloths, place mats, napkins, and candles. We had fun setting a colorful table with china and serving pieces.
Original art by New Mexico artists and fun Southwest artifacts are on display throughout. These flowers are real - we didn't realize that - and discovered it on Day #4 - and promptly gave them a big drink. This cabinet housed the stereo system and had a nice selection of tunes.
Five bedrooms and three bathrooms. (Beds for 15, and with sofa sleepers - sleeps 17).
Fun basement stocked with toys, puzzles, games, large TV.
Outdoor private, walled patio with 7 person hot tub (with lighted waterfall), grill patio table and chairs for 10, and beautiful trees and flowers.
Our family of 8 LOVED Capitol Casa! We give it 5 stars. If you re heading to Santa Fe - look into it!
